Hair Mask: 10 Homemade Hair Masks For Natural Hair
While humidity, outdoor elements, and hot hair tools can cause hair issues, the seasons are one of the main factors that will make your hair go through some changes. Luckily, you don’t have to hit the store or add yet another beauty product to your Amazon cart: You can also whip up a homemade hair mask at home.
If you find that your hair is not shiny, and damaged, and dry, consider applying one of these Hair masks.
- Honey, egg, and apple cider vinegar mask
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of castor oil.
Put the castor oil in a small bowl. Heat it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Allow it to cool down slightly, then massage it into your scalp and hair shaft, leaving it on for 15 minutes. Next, rinse thoroughly, then
Use it to treat: Dry scalp and dandruff.
- Castor Oil Hair Mask
Heat ¼ cup (59 mL) of castor oil in the microwave for 10 seconds. Massage the warm oil into your scalp and down the hair shaft. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse well.
Benefit: Castor oil contains fatty acids that moisturize and antimicrobial properties, making it a worthy treatment for dry scalp and dandruff.
- Cinnamon and Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Ingredients: 1 tsp. of cinnamon powder with 1 tsp. of melted coconut oil
Stir ingredients together. Apply mask to roots and then massage into scalp. Let it sit for 30 to 45 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Use it to treat: Thinning and breakage.
- Coconut Oil, Lemon, Yogurt, and Egg
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1/2 cup of plain yogurt, juice of 1 lemon, and 1 egg.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Then apply this mixture to your hair with your fingertips. Cover your hair with a warm towel or shower cap, and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then rinse it out thoroughly

- Coconut Oil, Honey, and Avocado Oil
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of 100 percent pure honey, 1 teaspoon refined coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of avocado oil.
Combine your ingredients in a bowl. Mix well with fingertips until it is well blended. Apply the mixture to the hair, starting at the scalp and working down to the ends. Leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of banana, 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of avocado, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.
Mix the dry ingredients together using a fork, then rub this into your scalp, working your way down to your ends. Wrap your hair in a plastic cap and let it sit for at least 20 minutes, then rinse.

- Coconut Oil and Honey
Ingredients: Mix 1 tbsp. of unrefined coconut oil with 1 tbsp. of raw honey.
Use a brush to smooth down your hair, starting at the roots and working your way down to the ends. Then, make sure all of the mixtures reach the ends of your hair by brushing in small circles. Let it sit for about 30 minutes then rinse and shampoo.

- Coconut Cream, Cocoa Powder, and Cinnamon
Ingredients: 1/2 cup of no-sugar-added cocoa powder, 3/4 tablespoon of powdered cinnamon, and 5 ounces of coconut cream.
In a large container, mix together all the ingredients and stir until smooth. If you’re in a hurry, wash your hair right after applying the mixture. If not, rinse your hair with warm water after 30 minutes, then shampoo.
