A Chartered Accountant is a member of the ICAI, who has the authority to certify the company’s financial accounts. CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for CA foundation, the participants have to fulfill the criteria issued by ICAI. The Foundation’s eligibility requirements are fundamental and specify the educational conditions only. It is a national-level exam that is conducted twice a year in offline mode. If a candidate fails to satisfy the criteria, he will not be able to register. Given below is the detailed list of eligibility.
- The candidate must have a passing certificate of 10th and 12th from a recognized board.
- Participants should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline with more than 60% marks.
- Candidates with graduation and masters can skip Foundation and can directly apply for CA Intermediate.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree holders in commerce get exemption in the entrance test and can directly register for Intermediate.
- The qualified student at the educational level will have to register online and submit the missing documents to the nearest office.
Passing criteria in CA foundation entrance examination?
Once elected for the exam, the students will be facing the following exam pattern.
- There will be objective-type questions in Foundation and each wrong answer will cost you 25% marks as per negative marking scheme.
- Participants will be declared pass only after getting 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects and 40% marks in each subject.
Criteria for Passing with a Distinction?
Such students who have secured 70% or more marks in aggregate will be considered in exceptional merit. To make place in the top 10 ranks in the Foundation, one has to score minimum 60% marks, and such students will also get a merit certificate from ICAI.
What after Fulfilling the CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria?
Students can fill the online application form after satisfying all the criteria of CA Foundation set by ICAI. The candidates had to submit a psychical copy of registration form with exam before last date. After applying online, students need to submit a hard copy of the form attached with the required documents.
One needs to submit following document before last date:
- Class 12th mark sheet issued by a recognized board
- Attested copy of admit card
- Student nationality proof in case he is a foreigner
- Certificate of a particular category, i.e. SC/ST/OBC and differently able.
- Class 10th mark sheet and admit card having original name and date of birth
Note: All the documents must be self-attested
After completing all the criteria of registration ICAI will issue you study material and admit card, and you will be able to sit in CA foundation exams. Hence the registration procedure of further exam CA intermediate and final will be the same with minor changes. Once you clear all the levels, the ICAI will issue the certificate to you, and now you can call yourself a Charted accountant.
