Chanakya from BC 371 to BC 283 was an Indian teacher, philosopher, economist, jurist, and royal advisor. He was generally known as Vishnugupta or Kautilya traditionally who authored ancient Indian political treatise, the Arthashastra, and the Neetishastra. Chanakya was majorly known for assisting the first Mauryan emperor, the Chandragupta Maurya in his rise to power. He was a shrewd administrator and a master statesman. Had a wide role in the establishment of the Mauryan Empire with his great theories and good governance for excluding corruption from society. He was not only termed as a political scientist but is also an economist, a diplomat, and a successful war strategist for the empire.
