CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Qualifying Examination

To sit for any exam, there is a qualifying examination that you must have appeared in. Similarly, to appear for the CLAT-UG exam, the qualifying examination is a 12th grade /equivalent examination from a recognized board. The qualifying examination is the same for candidates of all categories.

The qualifying examination for the CLAT-PG examination is an LL.B Degree or an equivalent degree/ examination from a recognized university. Like the CLAT-UG exam, the qualifying examination for the CLAT PG exam is the same for candidates of all categories.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Minimum Qualifying Marks

Merely appearing for the qualifying marks does not make you eligible for admission through CLAT. You have to get a minimum score. The Minimum Qualifying Marks for CLAT UG and CLAT PG exams are different.

To be eligible for the CLAT-UG exam,

Earlier there used to be an age criterion in CLAT eligibility criteria. But with recent modifications in the CLAT exam, the Consortium has removed the age criteria. Now there is no upper limit to the candidates’ age. You can appear for the exam at any age if you fulfil other CLAT eligibility criteria.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Nationality

Careers in law are highly reputed. Aspirants from India and of foreign nationalities also aspire to pursue legal studies. These candidates can sit for the CLAT exam and seek admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses in law in Indian universities. However, the admission process for NRI candidates and candidates of foreign nationality differs from the Indian aspirants. The NRI/foreign candidates must contact the university directly to learn about the admission process of their universities.
