THE VEIL OF SECRECY DESTROYING LIVES
Hello everyone. I am Trevor Hooper, a survivor of childhood trauma. I want to share my journey of childhood abuse with you & what helped me in getting back on my feet. Childhood is one of the most crucial and precious times of one’s lifetime. Whatever happens in one’s childhood remains rooted in one’s heart and mind for a long long time. Sadly, many children face childhood abuse at this tender age and are left with a lifelong impact of trauma & fear. Such incidents of childhood abuse are constantly on the rise worldwide.
Childhood abuse has a dreadful impact on the lives of children as they start living with multiple negative emotions. These include self-guilt, self-doubt, hatred, shame, etc. From my personal experience, all these negative emotions prevented me from going back to my home. As a child, I used to roam around and am homeless.
However, I’m grateful that I’ve been able to fulfill the journey of coming out from this phase of trauma & abuse. I have devised a 12-step comprehensive plan that will be of great help to all the victims of childhood abuse. This process will help you in coming out of this traumatic phase and lead a happy and successful life.
The first 5 steps of the plan are as follows:
Step 1: It is not your mistake
You must realize that no one has ever benefited from blaming oneself. One must learn to take the ups and downs of life in one’s stride and move forward. Yes, it’s sad that it happened to you, but you should be equally proud that you survived it. Rather than blaming yourself, you should have trust in the criminal justice system, for they shall punish the offender.
Step 2: Feeling of Grief-Related Emotions
Childhood abuse exposes you to several negative and grief-related emotions. These emotions begin in the stage of denial, and they end at the acceptance stage. During this, they pass through rage, bargaining, and sadness as well.
Along with these, victims of childhood abuse often also experience & exhibit other emotions like lack of trust, confidence, self-love, etc.
Our recovery process helps in ensuring that the victims do not let these negative emotions overpower them. The process helps them to recover from these emotions and start afresh.
Step 3: You’re Not Alone
You must also realize that you are not the only one to have faced such abuse. Unfortunately, every year, millions of children are met with the same fate. However, giving up shall not be an option. You must have faith in yourself and look to move ahead in life. The world certainly has much more to offer and there are bigger and better people out there.
Step 4: Realize that you’re a good person
Our course helps the victims in undergoing self-discovery and helping them realize their inner self & goodness. Just because you were subjected to abuse doesn’t necessarily make you evil for the rest of your life. You must realize that you are a good person with a whole lot of talent and love for good people. Throughout this course, you will be made to undergo various activities that will bring out your goodness.
Step 5: Realizing that there’s a life beyond this trauma
The fifth step involves coming to terms with the fact that there’s more to life beyond this traumatic phase. Like any other adversity, this too shall pass. All that you need to do is chin up & be confident to seize the right opportunities at the right time. This course will go a long way in helping start your life on a fresh note.
