Different Types of Agricultural Equipments in India
What do you mean by Agricultural Equipments?
Agricultural Equipments Implements are introduced to make farming tasks easy and efficient. Farm Implements come on the priority list of farmers because it makes farming thriving and productive. When our ancestors indulged in agriculture, it took their time and needed huge labour. But with the help of farm equipment and tractors, farmers do smart farming.
What do you mean by Agricultural Equipments?
Agricultural machinery is a part of farming where farmers can practice farming easily with the help of implements. This machinery comes in many types like harvester, cultivator, tillage, etc. With the use of farm implements, farming becomes efficient and thriving. Also, implements advanced ways of agriculture at a commercial level. In the below, you get to know more about farming implements.
Sprayer
This implement is used to spray the crop plants such as insecticides, pesticides, fertilisers and more products sprayed on the field. It is obtained in different ways. Some types include agricultural plane-sprayers and blower-prayers. Liquid or powder insecticides or pesticides can be streamed using these machines. In addition, it is possible to use some sprayers to water the field.
Field Cultivator
This machine is specially meant to soften the soil for field cultivation or planting. It can get rid of weeds or mulch or soften the earth shortly after crops have sprouted. Cultivators today are helpful in farming. Hard soils are softer for easier penetration of nutrients and water. They help prepare the ground for planting and eliminate weeds from the plant.
Seeders and Planters
Once the land is cultivated, seeders and planters are used for sowing seeds or planting crops. With this machine, a group of sources or produce can be prepared in a few hours. It helps to offer thriving farming and is economical for farmers. Planters are easily attached with Swaraj 735 tractor which is a utility tractor and comes in an economical price range.
Wheel Tractor-Scraper
It is designed for earthmoving and weeding purposes in a crop row of 1.5 widths and above. Weeds of such depth are removed with this equipment. The pulled weeds are cut into pieces with a sharp blade and buried deep in the soil. When buried weeds decompose, they attach to the available green manure in the ground.
Plough
It is specifically intended for ploughing the soil before sowing seeds or planting crops. We can use it to soften the soil. So, the roots of planted crops can get to the ground in search of nutrients. We can use this implement at the start of the crop.
Baler
Baler is one of the most common agricultural machinery. In addition, it can tie knots with twine for easy transport and storage of straws. This farming machine helps to compress the cut and rake the crop. It is useful for hay, cotton, flax straw, salt marsh hay, or silage into a compact bale. As transporting bales is handy which protects farmers from extra labouring and money. Also, we can easily store them.
Cultivator
Cultivator equipment is an agricultural tool used to agitate and pulverise the soil before planting or eliminate weeds and loosen the ground after the crop has grown. It is driven by a tractor and generally moves the earth to a greater depth than the plough. Many are equipped with hydraulic fins that fold to make road travel simpler and safer. Moreover, cultivators are easily attached to utility tractors such as Swaraj 744 and more.
Cultipacker
A cultivar is a piece of agricultural equipment that crushes clumps of dirt, removes air pockets, and presses small stones, forming a smooth, firm seedbed. The term Cultipacker applies specifically to hanging rollers, while the terms field roller or land roller can refer to either a soft or a rigid roller. Some farmers consider the terms mutually exclusive, but others think cutting tools to be a class of field rollers.
Rotary tiller
It is also known as rotavator, rotary spade or rotary plough. It is a motorised cultivator that works the soil by rotating the blades. Rotary tillers are either self-propelled or are pulled as a spare on the back of the tractor. The farming machine has many sharp bales that break the hard clods and moisturise and pulverise the soil. It will help farmers to prepare the soil to raise plants for getting high productivity.
Strip-till
This implement is known as a conservation system that uses minimum tillage. It combines the drying of traditional tillage with the help of soil conservation without tillage, in which only the part of the soil that contains the seed row is disturbed. This ploughing is done with specialised equipment, and several trips are made, depending on the strip-till implement used and field conditions. Each row that has been strip-tilled is typically about eight to ten inches wide.
Harrow
We can use harrow equipment to cultivate the soil surface. It differs in its effectiveness from the plough used for deep cultivation. Harrowing is often done in the fields to follow the rough ends left by tillage operations. The primary purpose of this harrowing is to break up the lumps and provide a better finish and a good soil structure that is suitable for seeding and planting operations. In addition, harrowing can remove weeds and cover the seed after planting. Three types of harrow are available: drag harrow, spike harrow, and disc harrow.
Irrigation Equipment
Farmers use various types of irrigation equipment for irrigation depending on the financial capability of the farm operator. Also, it depends on the suitability of implementation as per the sources of water. Generally, centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, sprinklers, drip irrigation, etc., are used for irrigation purposes.
Fire sprinkler system
This implement is an active fire protection system. Water provides a plan, a water distribution piping structure with sufficient pressure and flow rate, to which firefighters are attached.
Centre Irrigation
Irrigation is usually the artificial application of water to the soil to help crops grow. In crop production, we can use it mainly in arid regions and in periods of lack of rainfall to protect plants from frost. In addition, irrigation is the opposite process of drainage, which is the natural or artificial removal of surface and subsurface water from a given area.
Threshing Equipment
Threshing equipment is a mechanical device used for harvesting. Several types of harvesting machines are classified by crop in general. Some of the equipment used for harvesting are given below;
Combine Harvester
This implement has combined the functions of harvesting, threshing and cleaning grain crops. The primary purpose is harvesting the harvest; Maize, soybean, flax, oats, wheat, rye, etc.
Reaper
Reaper is an advanced machine used to harvest grain crops at the ground level. These reapers are powered by a power tiller or attached to a tractor. Moreover, the tractor-driven reaper’s field capacity is 0.2 to 0.4 hectares per hour.
Seed Cum Fertiliser Drill
Fertiliser dropping attachments are attached to the seed drill; Distribute the fertiliser evenly over the ground. It is called the seed cum fertiliser drill. In addition, one such drill consists of a large seedbox divided lengthwise into 2 compartments, one for seeds and one for fertiliser. Seed drills can be classified as bull draw and draw tractors.
