Is Podcast Better Than Blogging?

Podcast

Podcast a digital version of radio. And blogging the digital version of the newspaper. Both came from real-world references in different timelines but their popularity on the digital platform can not be ignored.

Though the podcast is newer than blogging the rise in its fame can’t be denied. In fact, it’s not wrong to say that both are technically matching each other on the same field. Even if their working curves are differents their usage is technically the same. For instance, both are considered powerful tools for marketing. One promotes through written content while the other through digital audio.

Now you might be thinking about which one is better and can get more traffic to your site? Well both of them work wonderfully in their respective fields. But which is better that’s something for you to decide. But to help you out let me tell you the pros and cons of the two of them.

Basic Definition

A podcast is a digital audio file that you are able to listen to online or download at any moment. They can be ranged from 5-7 minutes to 2-3 hours.

On the other hand, blogging is in the form of written content filled with informative and logical information. That can have 300-10,000 words.

Brand Awareness

Blogs are a great tool to spread your brand through social media platforms. It’s one of the most effective methods available to connect with your target audience. But in some cases, it might not be the best method. The podcast is more of a modern approach to it. And in some cases, it’s more effective. Since most blogs are written content many find podcasts more appealing as it allows to have a deeper connection with the podcaster by listening to him rather than only seeing what’s written. Thus increasing the credibility of the content creator.

Multitasking

We all know now is an age of multitasking. People tend to do two or three work at the same time to save time. Even modern smartphones feature multitasking capabilities like split-screen or a high amount of ram to run multiple apps in the background and many more. This podcast is way better than blogging as it’s an audio file so you can do whatever work you want and listen to it at the same time. On the other hand in order to read a blog you have to keep looking at it. Which does not allow you to concentrate on other things which you had planned.

Tools

Blogging takes minimal training and a simple setup. A pc with text editor software to write and an active internet connection to do research and publish your content. On the other hand, podcasts need some costly high-tech equipment to record noise-free voice and tune it. Also, a well-prepared script and a lot of practice, and most important have confidence in yourself. Especially during live podcasting.

Earning

Both methods allow you to earn from home online through sponsorship, ads, and the platforms that they are hosting on. For instance, bloggers mainly earn through ads that are shown on their blog pages. They also earn through reads from platforms such as Vocal, Medium, etc.

As for podcasts, their main source of income is also through advertising. The only difference is they don’t put out banners on their site instead talk about their sponsor products between their podcast.
