4 Of The Best New Cars Coming In 2023 And 2024
Whether you’re looking to upgrade your vehicle, or simply window shopping to see what’s on the market, you’re in for a treat over the next couple of years.
Experts predict a coming surge in new vehicles from a wide range of top brands, such as the Hyundai Iconique line, new EVs from Renault, and an electric version of the iconic star of the Back To The Future film series, in the form of the DeLorean Alpha5.
We will also experience a leap in technology, with car manufacturers increasing their focus on creating greater vehicle connectivity, while electric vehicles continue to develop and improve at pace. Even more excitingly, research into hydrogen fuel powered cars produces more promising results year on year, and may hold the key to affordable, sustainable, and clean transportation for generations to come.
With all these exciting developments (and more) in mind, here are some of the best new cars coming in 2023 and 2024.

Porsche 911 Dakar (2023)
Porsche boasts that ‘The 911 Dakar is the only car that you can drive from an African safari to Le Mans, then to the theatre and onto the streets of New York’.
With its super lightweight design and spectacular off-road handling, the Porsche 911 Dakar brings both functionality and style to the table, utilising up-to-the-minute performance technology.
The 911 takes the sleekness of the original Dakar race car design and makes it hardier and more suited to off-roading. It offers a sturdy four-wheel drive rally car with high suspension and beefy textured tyres, as well as the vented carbon-reinforced bonnets found on the 911 GT3, alongside stainless-steel skid plates.
The 911 Dakar even comes with a second towing eye, a fixed spoiler, and optional roof racks that can be installed for practicality. It can be raised to up to 205mm of total ground clearance for clearing boulders, making it an ideal vehicle for both work and play.
The 911 Dakar will reach speeds of up to 149mph and achieves 0-60 in just 3.5 seconds. While it isn’t quite as fast as the Porsche Carerra, which hits top speeds of 192mph, its easy maneuverability and hardy yet lightweight design makes the 911 ideal for drag racing, rallying, and off-road adventures.
An excellent all-rounder, the 911 Dakar handles tarmac, gravel, and sand with ease, making it a thrilling addition to any race car collection. However, this is a limited-edition vehicle, with only 2,500 on offer at a price point of £173,000.
If you’re a thrill-seeking off-roader, the 911 Dakar will truly give you a great bang for your buck!

Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato (2023)
Following the lead of the Porche 911 Dakar, Lamborghini has also incorporated some tougher features into their Huracán Sterrato.
‘Sterrato’ in Italian means ‘dirt road’, and as such, the Huracán Sterrato is well-equipped to handle uneven surfaces, being the fastest model of Huracán when travelling on a ‘secondary, bumpy road’.
To make the Sterrato more suited to irregular terrain, Lamborghini has reinforced and reprofiled the front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts to reduce damage when driving on gravelly roads, while also installing a front skid plate and underbody armour. And for the all-important thrill factor, the Huracán Sterrato can reach speeds of up to 161 mph, with a 0-62mph time of just 3.4 seconds.
The Sterrato uses a 5.2 litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine that reaches 602bhp and 413 lb-ft of torque with ease – with a redline at 8,700rpm, making it a smooth drive over the roughest of terrains. While there isn’t extreme horsepower attached to this car, it is a relaxed and comfortable drive even at high speeds.
This is combined with a high suspension and extra wheel travel to make crossing rough terrain an easy feat. Wheel travel is increased by 25% on the front axle and 35% on the rear one, with a hydraulic nose lift raising the ride height by 40mm, helping to clear lumps and bumps on the road with little to no trouble.
Style And Substance!
While not technically an off-roader, the Sterrato handles rough roads without breaking a sweat, making it a practical yet exhilarating drive on bumpy country roads. And there’s no denying that the design is eye-catching, boasting an impressively muscular appearance that is simultaneously strikingly stylish.
The Sterrato ushers in a new era of sports cars with a brand-new approach to auto design, as the vehicle offers a thrilling ride while also prioritising drivability and comfort.
Another limited-edition car, only 1,499 Sterratos will be made, each costing around £270,000.

Alpine A110R (2023)
With a petite engine of just 1.8 litres and a standard 248bhp and 320Nm of torque, readers may be surprised to see the A110R on our list. However, with its super-lightweight and aerodynamic design, the A110R is a force to be reckoned with, reaching top speeds of up to 177 mph and boasting a 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds.
The Alpine A110R weighs a lightweight 1082kg and achieves its impressive top speed of 177mph with just 248 horsepower. As such, the A110R offers agile handling and affordable running costs, making it an accessible option for drivers from a range of economic backgrounds, retailing new for just under £50,000.
Plus, the Alpine A110R offers 10mpg more than the Lotus Emira or the Porsche Cayman, meaning it is an economic choice for the fuel-conscious driver.
Although the interior space is limited, the seats are comfortable and stylishly covered in quilted leather, while there is an abundance of flashy tech features, including a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a two-speaker Focal Stereo in the GT and S versions, and a DAB radio and Bluetooth.
An ingenious reboot of the 1960 original, the Alpine A110R is undeniable evidence of the improvement in car design over the past few decades.

Aston Martin Valhalla (2024)
If you’re searching for a hybrid vehicle with all the intensity of a track car and happen to have £600,000 sitting in your bank account, the Valhalla may be for you.
At its full power of 937bhp it will reach 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, achieving a groundbreaking speed of 217 mph on its 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The Aston Martin Valhalla will even lap the Nürburgring in just 6 minutes and 30 seconds, making it the fastest production car ever to do so.
However, a downside of this vehicle is that on EV-only mode, the Valhalla has a range of just 15km when travelling at 80 mph. While the ride may be as smooth and as quiet as a ghost, this limited range is far short of the impressive numbers being posted by many modern EVs.
The vehicle’s styling is classic Aston Martin, showing obvious influences from the Valkyrie but also offering aerodynamic features such as the front splitter and side sills, while also having large diffuser tunnels at the rear that produce 600kg of downforce at 155mph.
The Valhalla brings all the traditional style of the Aston Martin brand, but with an extra surge of electrical power and all the benefits that brings. The Valhalla is a smooth, comfortable, and undeniably powerful drive that runs rings around its competitors.
If you can afford the price tag, why not try it for yourself and find out?
